A Quick And Easy Breakfast Recipe With Few Ingredients (Blender Ready)

If you’ve been looking for a new recipe that has clean ingredients and your picky eaters will enjoy, these Healthy Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal Pancakes are your next go-to breakfast. All the ingredients can be thrown in the blender making clean-up super easy, you can thank me later.

These pancakes have a soft ‘melt in your mouth’ texture, they are also flourless, sugar-free, and can definitely be substituted with dairy-free milk. The cinnamon and apple combination gives a warm and comforting flavor, you can change it up by mixing in chocolate chips, blueberries, or nuts. This can also be a fun recipe to handle if you have little helpers in the kitchen.

Unsweetened Applesauce is the ingredient that sets these pancakes aside from all the other ones you have seen on the internet. It’s also the secret ingredient that makes these pancakes slightly sweet without having to add sugar.

Healthy Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal Pancakes

  • 1 Cup Dry Oats
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 Cup Milk Of Choice

Start by blending your oats alone to create an oat flour. I find that doing this alone, instead of everything at once, helps the oatmeal break down to a finer powder. This is a crucial step for that soft ‘melt in your mouth’ texture. Once your oats are blended, set them off to the side in a separate container so you can add the other ingredients first. Removing the oatmeal and adding your wet ingredients to the bottom of the blender will ensure better mixing.

The secret to flipping your pancakes at the perfect time is in the bubbles. Literally, you want to see bubbles start to rise and once a few of them start popping you are ready to flip your pancake over. This is the perfect point between undercooked and burnt.

Although this recipe has no added sugar I find that the applesauce and cinnamon combo gives it just a tiny hint of sweet. Plus there’s no pancake without syrup so you make up for it then. Of course if you want to sweeten your batter slightly you can opt for sweetened applesauce or add 1 Tbsp of brown sugar to your blender mix.

I recommend you to try them if your looking for a healthier alternative. These pancakes are loved by adults, toddlers, and even work great for baby led weaning!

Notes

  • **If you want to sweeten your batter a little bit more you can use sweetened applesauce or add 1 Tbsp of brown sugar to your blender mix
  • *Want to freeze them for later? No problem. Make sure the pancakes are completely cool, then store them in an airtight container or freezer bag with a piece of wax or parchment paper in between each pancake. They should keep well for a few months.
